Crude Oil Theft: Vessel Seized with 88,000 Litres of Stolen Fuel in Bayelsa, Nigeria

A joint operation involving Tantita Security Services Limited and Nigerian security agencies has resulted in the apprehension of a vessel carrying approximately 88,000 litres of stolen crude oil. The vessel, named Harbor Spirit and bearing IMO No: 8226272, was intercepted at approximately 1:00 am on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in the Sanga community of Bayelsa State. The arrest also led to the apprehension of twelve crew members, including three individuals from the Sanga community. The vessel is currently anchored at the Tantita facility in Oporoza, the headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State. Notably, this incident follows the recent arrest of MT Karli in the same region. The suspects have been handed over to the local police for further investigation at the scene.
