NNPC Denies Plans for Fuel Price Increase

In response to circulating speculations, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has unequivocally denied any impending rise in the price of petrol, also known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

NNPC has urged the public to dismiss baseless rumors, emphasizing that there are no intentions to elevate the PMS price. In a concise announcement on Thursday, NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi O. Soneye, reassured the populace.

Soneye stated, “The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd. assures the public that there is no imminent increase in the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol. NNPC Ltd. urges Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumours and assures them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS price. Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying, as there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country.”

This declaration serves to allay concerns and discourage unwarranted actions, affirming the stability of petrol pricing and supply in Nigeria.
