Emir of Dutse, Nuhu Sanusi laid to rest

The remains of the Emir of Dutse, Dr Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi were on Wednesday laid to rest at kargo public cemetery in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.

The funeral prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Dutse Central Mosque, Abubakar Sani Birnin Kudu, at Dutse Eid prayer ground.

Media Talk Africa reported that the emir died on Tuesday at the age of 78 in Abuja Hospital after brief illness.

He is survived by two wives, 13 children and grandchildren.IMG 20230201 WA0012

The Dutse emirate was one of the two first-class emirs created in Jigawa State after creation of the state in 1991.

He succeeded his late father, Muhammadu Sanusi Dan Bello, who ruled between 1983 and 1995.

The funeral ceremony was attended by the Sultan of Sokoto, Abubakar Sa’ad, the presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, and the vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kashim Shettima.IMG 20230201 WA0011

The presidential delegations have also attended the funeral prayer led by Garba Shehu, a media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Others include the PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President, Namadi Sambo; former and serving as well as Governors of Sokoto State are among others.

Reknown Islamic clerics and first-class Emirs from within and outside the country.
