Oladeinde Arogbofa, a retired Brigadier General and the former Chief of Staff to Nigeria’s ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away at the age of 72. Arogbofa, who served as Jonathan’s Chief of Staff from February 10, 2014, to May 29, 2015, breathed his last on a Saturday morning.

Born on November 10, 1952, in Oka-Akoko, Ondo State, Arogbofa was commissioned into the Nigerian Army in 1973, marking the beginning of a distinguished military career. He was an alumnus of prestigious institutions such as Obafemi Awolowo University, Rochester Institute of Technology, the University of Alabama, the United States Army Command and General Staff College, the University of Lagos, and the University of Ibadan.

After his tenure as Chief of Staff, Arogbofa continued his service to the nation, holding the position of Chairman at the Centre for Research, Information Management and Media Development, CRIMMD, until his passing. His death marks the end of an era for Nigeria, as the nation bids farewell to a dedicated and influential public figure.
