Sokoto State Pilgrims Agency Registers 3,918 Intending Pilgrims for 2024 Hajj

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) has successfully registered 3,918 intending pilgrims for the 2024 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. This number represents the slots allocated to the state, out of a total of 5,001 slots.

During a meeting with the 23 Local Government Assistant Hajj Registration officers in Sokoto, the agency’s chairman, Aliyu Musa-Gusau, revealed this figure. He emphasized that the agency’s collection of payments for the balance and complete package for the 2024 Hajj will close on February 12.

The decision to close the 2024 registration stems from the directives of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which mandates the completion of all balance payments and seat purchases by Monday, February 12. Failure to comply with these directives could result in missing out on this year’s Hajj.

The chairman detailed that 1,806 intending pilgrims have paid N4.5 million and above, while 2,895 intending pilgrims have paid below N4.5 million. He urged depositors to ensure timely completion of payments and advised those willing to pay for the entire package to do so before the Monday deadline.
