Access Holdings has made public its plans to announce the successor to the late Group Chief Executive Officer, Herbert Wigwe, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in California, United States, alongside his wife and son on Friday.
Abubakar Jimoh, Chairman of Access Holdings, shared this information in a statement signed by the company’s secretary, Sunday Ekwochi, while confirming the heartbreaking loss of Wigwe, his wife, and his son in the tragic crash.
“In adherence to the company’s protocol, the board will soon unveil the appointment of an acting Group Chief Executive Officer, upholding our confidence in the Access Group’s ability to continue building on Dr. Wigwe’s legacy of growth and operational excellence,” the statement asserts.
The company expressed that Wigwe had been a dynamic and influential force with a remarkable presence.
Media Talk Africa reported that Wigwe, his wife, his son, and Abimbola Ogunbanjo lost their lives in the chopper crash in the US.
Wigwe’s passing has prompted tributes from various quarters, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
