During an interview on Rio Ferdinand’s ‘FIVE’ podcast, Mourinho expressed his backing for Peseiro and the Super Eagles to clinch the 2023 AFCON title, highlighting their close relationship. Peseiro, in response to Mourinho’s remarks, expressed gratitude and emphasized the bond they share in football.
Peseiro conveyed to reporters prior to the AFCON final, “Of course I spoke with him, I speak with him many times. I am his friend, he is a genius in football. I am happy because he supports me. He is my friend, it is good for us.”
