The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) coordinator in Katsina State, Aisha Mohammed, has issued a stern warning to camp officials regarding the extortion of corps members. Speaking in Katsina ahead of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ stream I orientation course, Mohammed emphasized the need for officials to uphold their duties without engaging in corrupt practices.
During the upcoming three-week orientation course, Mohammed plans to conduct surprise inspections across local government areas and has threatened sanctions for any official found neglecting their responsibilities. She urged staff to exhibit professionalism, dedication, and seriousness in carrying out their assigned duties.
Mohammed also emphasized the importance of proper administration and professionalism, urging staff to treat corps members with courtesy upon their arrival at the camp. She called on zonal and local government inspectors to educate corps members on the repercussions of improper dressing and unauthorized travel.
