Atiku Disassociates Daniel Bwala from Aide Status, Clarifies His Role as Former PDP Campaign Spokesperson

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on the media to stop referring to Daniel Bwala as his aide, emphasizing that Bwala only served as a spokesperson for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) campaign. Atiku stated that Bwala’s contract ended after the dissolution of the campaign council.

Bwala, who was a former member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), switched his allegiance to President Bola Tinubu before the 2023 elections due to a same-faith ticket protest. Atiku’s media office issued a statement, clarifying Bwala’s role and urging the public to recognize him based on his current vocation and alliance.

The statement emphasized that Bwala was a spokesperson for the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation, not an aide to Atiku. It noted that after the election, Bwala’s position as a campaign spokesperson had ended, and he had moved on with his career. Atiku urged the media and the public to desist from defining Bwala as his former aide and to acknowledge his current vocation and alliance.
