Kaduna Fire Service Responds to 51 Fire Outbreaks in January

The Kaduna State Fire Service reported 51 fire outbreaks in January across Kafanchan, Zaria, and Kaduna metropolitan areas. The Director, Paul Aboi, stated that property worth approximately N7.5 million was saved, while property valued at N2.6 billion was destroyed. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries.

The causes of these incidents were attributed to bush burning, carelessness, and improper use of electrical appliances. The department faced additional challenges as two of its trucks were vandalized by juveniles, impacting their response capabilities.

Mr. Aboi emphasized that despite these setbacks, the fire department is committed to maintaining services and will collaborate with relevant stakeholders to achieve this goal.
