In a span of six weeks, the Nigeria Customs Service has reported a staggering N1.975 billion in revenue from confiscated goods with Duty Paid Value. Dalha Chedi, the Comptroller of Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘B’ Kaduna, made this revelation during a recent media briefing.
Chedi detailed that the seizures encompassed 27 different items, including used foreign shoes, foreign parboiled rice, second-hand clothing, expired milk, juice powder, foreign spaghetti, macaroni, couscous, premium motor spirits (PMS), medication such as Amoxicillin and Artesunate, flame lighters, foreign dates, YES Cigarettes, foreign used tyres, and numerous vehicles held at various Customs formations in the Zone.
He emphasized that the total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the seizures during this period amounted to a staggering N1,975,657,865.96.
