The youth wing of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed disappointment in President Bola Tinubu’s handling of economic challenges and security issues in Nigeria. Usman Okai Austin, the national coordinator of PDP Youths Frontier, voiced concerns about the current state of the nation in a statement released in Abuja.

According to Mr. Okai, the country needs leaders who can effectively address its pressing issues and lead the way towards economic recovery and security solutions. He urged Tinubu to seek guidance from experienced leaders such as Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo, highlighting the importance of setting aside political differences for the sake of the nation.

Mr. Okai also criticized Tinubu’s role in the development of Lagos, stating that the city’s progress is largely attributed to its strategic location and its previous status as the Federal Capital Territory. He emphasized the failure of the current administration’s economic policies to adapt to the modern challenges facing Nigeria, attributing it to the leadership’s lack of understanding of the country’s complexities.

The statement further highlighted the impact of the economic hardship on Nigerians, leading to school dropouts and soaring prices of goods and services, resulting in the depreciation of the national currency. The PDP youths expressed disappointment in Tinubu’s administration, stating that the focus on securing a second term has led to neglect, leaving Nigerians to bear the consequences.

In conclusion, the PDP youths criticized the APC for its leadership’s failure to take responsibility for the nation’s hardships, urging Tinubu and the party to prioritize the well-being of Nigerians. They emphasized the need for effective leadership in addressing the economic and security crises, stating that the current administration has not lived up to the expectations set upon assuming office.
