Rivers United’s Nyima Nwagua has set his sights on the team’s upcoming challenge in the CAF Confederation Cup. The Pride of Rivers is set to face off against Academica Petroleos de Lobito in Angola for a crucial match on Sunday.
Having secured a remarkable 3-0 victory against the same opponent in November, Stanley Eguma’s squad is gearing up for the showdown with confidence. Currently positioned third in Group C with six points, Rivers United is determined to secure a spot in the next round of the competition.
Nwagua emphasized the team’s unwavering focus, stating, “Right now, the team is focused on the task ahead in Angola. We have to build on the performance in the league because we will have no excuse than to get it right in Angola.”
Leading Group C are Club Africain and Dreams FC, both with nine points each, while Academica Petroleos de Lobito struggles at the bottom of the table with no points.
