“Federal Government Pledges Commitment to Overhaul Education Sector” – Senator Barau Reassures NANS

In a recent meeting with the newly sworn-in leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) at the National Assembly in Abuja, Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, reaffirmed the government’s dedication to revolutionizing the education sector to propel the nation’s progress.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of education in advancement, Senator Barau stressed the imperative need to address the prevailing challenges within the education system for Nigeria to chart a positive course for its future.

Senator Barau expressed optimism, citing the unequivocal commitment of the current administration, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in tackling the country’s educational obstacles.

He articulated, “The government, from the President to all of us in the administration, is exerting every effort to elevate our tertiary education sector. However, this endeavor necessitates your collaboration. We are resolutely laboring to enact legislation that will complement the executive in addressing our nation’s challenges.”

Acknowledging the pivotal role of the NANS leadership, Senator Barau commended their unwavering support and urged their active engagement in the government’s initiatives.

In response, Comrade Lucky Emonefe, the President of NANS, hailed Senator Barau as an exemplar and a source of inspiration for Nigerian students. Highlighting the Senator’s consistent backing, Emonefe sought his continued guidance and support, underscoring the Senator’s advocacy for students and the youth.
