In a recent revelation, Nigerian musician Eedris Abdulkareem has alleged that American rapper 50 Cent and his entourage forcibly removed several Nigerian artists, including P-Square, from a backstage area during a 2004 concert organized by Nigerian Breweries. The incident purportedly took place at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.

During the latest episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Abdulkareem claimed that when 50 Cent’s security personnel instructed him to vacate the backstage, he adamantly refused. He described a tense standoff that was diffused only through the intervention of an event organizer.

According to Abdulkareem, Charly Boy, another prominent figure in the Nigerian music scene, supposedly accepted a bribe from Nigerian Breweries to withhold evidence of 50 Cent’s crew mistreating Abdulkareem during a separate encounter, leading to a fallout between the two musicians.

These shocking allegations shed light on a contentious chapter in the Nigerian music industry, raising questions about the treatment of local artists by international acts and the complex dynamics of backstage politics during high-profile events.
