After a group of Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC) youths protested against the governorship primaries that produced three candidates, the State Working Committee (SWC) expressed confidence in the acting chairman, Jarrett Tenebe. The committee also lifted the suspension of Francis Inegbeniki, the Vice chairman of the party in Edo Central Senatorial District.
The SWC voiced confidence in the State Secretary of the party, Lawrence Okah, and the State Publicity Secretary, Peter Uwadiae. This decision was announced by the State Publicity Secretary, Prince Peter Uwadiae Igbinigie, in a statement released in Benin City.
Uwadiae stated that the vote of confidence was given due to the exceptional leadership displayed by the executive officers, particularly during the party’s current political evolution. The SWC also urged the trio to remain steadfast in upholding justice, equity, and fair play, despite any external pressures.
Uwadiae expressed gratitude to the party members for their composure in the face of unwarranted attacks and assured them that the peace within the party would be restored.
Regarding the lifting of Francis Inegbineki’s suspension, Uwadiae mentioned that the SWC decided to revoke the suspension and reinstate him as the vice chairman of the APC, Edo Central Senatorial District, as no investigative reports had been submitted by the local government executives.
