Tinubu Names Hafsat Bakari as NFIU Director

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Hafsat Bakari as the Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit pending Senate confirmation. Bakari, an experienced lawyer and financial intelligence expert, has a background in anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing. She previously served as deputy director at the NFIU and held key positions at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Tinubu expects Bakari to leverage her expertise in addressing illicit financial flows and other malpractices in foreign exchange markets.
