Nigeria between 2015 to date deployed 2500 Technical Aid Corps (TAC) volunteers to African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.

The deployments were done by the Federal Government’s Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC).

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema made the disclosure on Thursday in Abuja.

The ministry presented its achievements at the 22nd edition of the Buhari Administration Scorecard Series (2015-2023).

The beneficiary countries were Benin Republic, Belize, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Jamaica, Liberia, Niger.

Others include Namibia, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, St. Kitts & Nevis, Tanzania, The Gambia and Uganda.

Onyema hinted many of the volunteers were still waiting for clearance from the recipient countries.

He said the DTAC since 2015 “recorded substantial progress, including an increase in recipient countries as well as resuscitation of the TAC scheme”.

The corps was established to share Nigeria’s expertise with other African nations, as well as Caribbean and Pacific states
