In a special reception, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo, hosted Super Eagles goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke, team manager Dayo Enebi Anchor, and chief security officer Frank Adejoh at his residence in Lokoja. The event celebrated the team’s outstanding performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Olorunleke, Enebi, and Adejoh hail from Kogi State, and Olorunleke, a key player for Enyimba in the Nigeria Premier Football League, served as the Super Eagles’ third-choice goalkeeper at the tournament. Notably, he was the sole local player in the squad, accompanied by his wife, Tosin Olorunleke.

The gathering also included Mallam Hassan Wada, chairman of the Kogi State Football Association, and Monday Anyebe, Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports.

The AFCON 2023 culminated with the Super Eagles securing second place, following a 2-1 defeat to hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the finals.
