In a recent turn of events, Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy from the iconic group P-Square, has firmly rebutted Eedris Abdulkareem’s assertions regarding an alleged assault on the group by American rapper 50 Cent and his entourage at a 2004 concert in Lagos.

Abdulkareem made these claims in a podcast interview, alleging that 50 Cent’s crew aggressively expelled Nigerian artists, including P-Square, from the backstage area at the concert. He conveyed his resistance to being intimidated, asserting that he was the sole Nigerian artist who stood firm in the face of such intimidation.

However, during a recent Instagram live session with his fans, Rudeboy divulged that P-Square never participated in the aforementioned show. This was due to the organizers’ failure to reach an agreeable booking fee with the group.

Rudeboy further accused Abdulkareem of betraying Nigerian artists by clandestinely accepting inadequate compensation from the concert organizers, after they had initially negotiated substantial performance fees.

The celebrated performer emphatically stated, “P-Square did not attend the [50 Cent] concert. We had a different engagement and were never slated to perform. The reason being that the offer presented to us was unsatisfactory, and thus, we declined. In contrast, Eedris Abdulkareem accepted the meager offering and anticipated VIP treatment,” he added, “Therefore, 50 Cent’s crew did not mistreat you” Rudeboy implored Abdulkareem to “show respect” and refuted the claims made against P-Square, emphasizing, “We were never scheduled to perform at that concert. Daddy Showkey, Tony Tetuila, and others are affirming that Eedris is untruthful. We are aware of his fabrications. Our non-appearance at the concert is evidence that we did not attend.”

This disclosure from Rudeboy has sparked widespread attention, shedding new light on the controversial incident and altering the prevailing narrative.
