Football icon Thierry Henry has delivered a powerful message to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, urging the striker to showcase his talent beyond Italy’s Serie A.
In a recent statement, Henry, expressing reluctance about Osimhen joining Arsenal, extended his best wishes to the Nigerian forward for his future beyond Napoli. Osimhen has garnered interest from Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal as the summer transfer window looms.
As the reigning African Footballer of the Year prepares to bid farewell to Napoli at the end of the season, Henry discussed Osimhen’s potential during the UEFA Champions League show with CBS Sports Golazo. “I think he needed the goal today [against Barcelona]. At the AFCON, we saw him, he can lead the line, run into the channels, and has excellent hold-up play. How good can he be? He showed last year what he could do and won the African Player of the Year along the way, winning the Scudetto with Napoli and getting to the final with Nigeria,” Henry remarked.
Expressing his desire to witness Osimhen’s performance in the Premier League or with Paris Saint-Germain, Henry emphasized his reluctance for Osimhen to join Arsenal. “Not Arsenal, I won’t go there. I want to see him take the next step and be more consistent with his output, but to be able to win the title with Napoli the way he did will stay in history forever, so all the best to him in his career,” added Henry.
