Somaliland Government Teams Up with RiceAfrica to Revolutionize Agriculture Across Africa

The Republic Government of Somaliland has taken a significant step towards enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring food security by partnering with RiceAfrica. This collaboration, aimed at deploying technology-driven solutions, marks a crucial milestone in addressing food insecurity not only in Somaliland but also across the African continent.

The partnership agreement was formalized during a recent meeting between the Founder and CEO of RiceAfrica, Ibrahim Maigari Ahmadu, and the Vice President of Somaliland, His Excellency Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail, held at the Presidential Palace in Hargeisa. The Vice President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting investors and creating a conducive business environment, emphasizing Somaliland’s safety and stability for commercial activities.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, CEO Ibrahim Maigari highlighted RiceAfrica’s mission to revolutionize smallholder farming communities in Africa through the innovative application of technology. The visit to Somaliland was made possible through collaboration with Bilow Capital, a Venture Capital Fund and Venture Studio based in Hargeisa, dedicated to attracting pioneering and socially impactful enterprises to invest in the region.

RiceAfrica, known for its technologically advanced agricultural optimization services, operates in multiple African countries, including Nigeria, Tanzania, and Rwanda, with ambitious plans for further expansion across the continent. Leveraging its acclaimed FarmEASY Operating System, the organization focuses on empowering smallholder farmers to enhance their productivity significantly, thereby contributing to improved food sufficiency and security throughout Africa.
