Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Qatar Visit: Nigerian Government Declines Comment on Leaked Memo

The Nigerian Federal Government has officially announced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s upcoming visit to Qatar on March 2 and 3, 2024. In a press release by Francisca Omayuli, a spokesperson for the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was confirmed that the visit will involve high-level discussions on strategic, diplomatic, and economic matters between the two nations.

While the statement acknowledged the longstanding friendship and strong bilateral relations between Nigeria and Qatar, it remained silent on whether Qatar had rejected a meeting with President Tinubu. Omayuli stated, “The Ministry will not provide any response regarding the leaked diplomatic communication that has been circulating in the media.”
