Kano Pillars Dominate Sunshine Stars with a 5-1 Victory in NPFL Clash

Kano Pillars Football Club put on a stellar performance as they secured a convincing 5-1 win against Sunshine Stars in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

Mustapha Ibrahim shined with a brace, scoring in the 48th and 52nd minutes, while Rabiu Ali, Auwalu Malam, and Umar Shehu each added a goal to the scoreboard. The visitors managed to score a consolation goal through a penalty in the 82nd minute.

Chief coach Audu Maikaba praised his players for their outstanding display, emphasizing the team’s resilience in the face of challenges. He expressed satisfaction with the victory and pledged improved performance in future matches, especially in the upcoming away game against Katsina United.

Assistant Coach Ifeanyi Nwachukwu of Sunshine Stars acknowledged Pillars’ superior performance, highlighting the competitive nature of football and vowing to address his team’s shortcomings for their next encounter.

With 36 points from 21 matches, Kano Pillars currently hold the third spot in the NPFL standings, demonstrating their strength and determination in the competition.
