In a stark declaration, renowned economist and Labour Party stalwart, Pat Utomi, has forewarned that the Naira could plummet to a staggering N10,000 against the dollar without prompt intervention.

Utomi delivered this admonition during an event hosted by activist Dr. Moses Paul, commemorating the first anniversary of the 2023 presidential election.

Expressing deep concern, Utomi lamented the swift decline of the nation, attributing it to a growing disconnect between the populace and those in power.

As Utomi voiced, “Our country is on a rapid decline; a result of the widening gap between the governed and the governors. The nation is swiftly deteriorating, heading towards an uncertain fate.”

Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, he urged immediate citizen action, stressing the need to reclaim the country without delay. “We cannot afford to postpone our actions until the next election cycle in 2027; the time to act is now. We possess the solutions that elude those in power.”

Warning of the dire consequences of inaction, Utomi painted a grim picture of an impending economic crisis. “If we fail to establish our own security framework, the nation’s productivity will dwindle, culminating in the Naira’s potential freefall to N10,000 per dollar,” he cautioned.

The somber forecast articulated by Utomi serves as a clarion call for proactive measures and a collective effort to avert a looming financial catastrophe.
