Peoples Democratic Party Certifies Ighodalo for Edo Governorship

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) officially awarded Dr. Asuerinme Ighodalo, its Edo State governorship candidate, with a Certificate of Return on Tuesday. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, declared the certification in recognition of Ighodalo as the chosen candidate for the September 21, 2024, gubernatorial elections in Edo State.
PDP’s National Working Committee acknowledged the successful conclusion of the Edo State governorship primary election, confirming it through the appeal panel’s endorsement. In a statement titled “PDP presents Certificate of Return to its Edo State Governorship Election Candidate, Dr. Asuerinme Ighodalo,” Ologunagba highlighted the party’s decision.
Applauding the leaders, stakeholders, and members in Edo State for ensuring a peaceful and prosperous primary election, PDP announced the Certificate Presentation ceremony details: Date: Tuesday, February 27, 2024; Venue: National Executive Committee (NEC) Hall, Wadata Plaza, PDP National Secretariat, Abuja; Time: 12 noon.
However, the statement did not address the situation concerning the state deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, who reportedly emerged as a candidate in a separate primary held concurrently.
