Fake Female NYSC Member Arrested in Nasarawa State

The Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended a fake female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). According to DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrest was made following a complaint from a NYSC staff at the Keffi Divisional Headquarters.

The staff reported that a 23-year-old lady had illegally gained access to the Magaji Dan Yamusa Orientation Camp in Keffi. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the suspect was a student at Ebonyi State University, studying Public Administration.

The fake corps member confessed that she was meant to have graduated in 2022 but had several carryover courses. In an attempt to deceive her parents, she purchased NYSC uniforms and other items from the market, sneaking into the camp to take photos.

Commissioner of Police Umar Nadada warned others with similar intentions to reconsider, as the law would eventually catch up with them.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding the integrity of institutions like the NYSC and the consequences of attempting to deceive the system. Let this be a lesson to all who may be tempted to engage in such fraudulent activities.
