Troops of Operation Safe Haven, a special military task force responsible for maintaining peace in Plateau, Bauchi, and Kaduna States, have made significant strides in combating crime in the region. In a recent press briefing in Jos, Deputy Commander DCP Terzungwe Iyela announced the arrest of 271 suspects involved in various criminal activities.

The operation also led to the recovery of 1,161 pieces of ammunition and the successful rescue of 79 kidnap victims. The suspects were apprehended for crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry, and other offenses.

DCP Iyela highlighted the commitment of the troops in ensuring the safety and security of the residents in the area. Additionally, the operation resulted in the neutralization of 13 armed criminals, the arrest of 271 suspects, and the recovery of 554 cattle from rustlers.

With a total of 33 suspects already charged to court, the operation has also dismantled two arms fabrication factories, further contributing to the crackdown on criminal activities in the region.

The relentless efforts of Operation Safe Haven underscore the importance of maintaining peace and security in the region, as they continue to make significant strides in combating crime and ensuring the safety of the residents.
