Bayer Leverkusen’s manager, Xabi Alonso, has shared an encouraging update on the recovery of forward Victor Boniface. The Nigerian striker suffered an abductor injury during his country’s preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in January. Following surgery, Boniface is now on the road to recovery.
Alonso expressed optimism about Boniface’s progress, stating, “His development is very good, the recovery is going in the right direction. That’s very positive.” The manager added, “We expect Boniface back soon, possibly in April or May. It’s great news for us to have him back. Boniface is working hard, showing great professionalism by training twice a day. We need players like him who are determined to return to the field.”
Before his injury, the 23-year-old had an impressive record of 10 goals and seven assists in just 16 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen. Fans of the team will be eagerly anticipating his return to action.
