Destiny Paul, a 24-year-old individual, has recently been apprehended by the Edo State Police Command on charges of impersonating the Kaduna State Government in order to deceive innocent members of the public. This shocking revelation was brought to light by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, during a press briefing in Benin City.

The arrest of Paul was made possible by the diligent efforts of the anti-kidnapping and cybercrime unit of the Command, who acted swiftly upon receiving a petition from the Force Headquarters. Through advanced technical intelligence, the suspect was located and apprehended along the Ubiaja-Uromi road in Edo State.

The petition detailed how a fraudulent individual from Edo State had been masquerading as a representative of the Kaduna State Government, duping unsuspecting victims in the process. Paul, upon interrogation, admitted to using the Kaduna State Government’s identity to carry out his fraudulent activities.

In response to this alarming discovery, the officers from the Force Headquarters have been alerted and are currently en route from Kaduna to Edo State to conduct a thorough investigation. Nwabuzor further stated that Paul will be handed over to the investigative team from Abuja for further questioning and legal proceedings.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by online impersonation and fraud, highlighting the importance of vigilance and cybersecurity measures in today’s digital age. The Edo State Police Command remains committed to upholding justice and ensuring the safety of its citizens in the face of such criminal activities.
