Mohammed Sanusi Recounts Herbert Wigwe’s Kindness: A Tribute to a True Friend

The former Emir of Kano State, Mohammed Sanusi, recently shared a touching story of how the late CEO of Access Bank Plc, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, came to his aid after he was dethroned and had to leave the state. Sanusi emotionally recounted how Wigwe provided support and accommodation for him and his family during a difficult time.

Sanusi praised Wigwe’s kindness and generosity, revealing that many people mistakenly believed he owned Access Bank, while Wigwe and Aig-Imoukhuede were his proxies. Sanusi also entrusted his life savings to Wigwe, confident that his children’s education would be secure under his care.

The emotional tribute continued as Sanusi shared a poignant moment where he defended Wigwe in a chat group, only to receive a heartfelt response from Wigwe shortly before his tragic passing in a helicopter crash in the United States. Sanusi’s tears flowed freely as he expressed gratitude for Wigwe’s unwavering support and friendship.

Vice President Kashim Shetimma also paid tribute to Wigwe, highlighting his legacy of inspiration and leadership. The VP praised Wigwe’s impact on those around him and expressed condolences on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Access family, and the Nigerian nation.

The event, which honoured the memory of Wigwe and other esteemed individuals lost in the tragic accident, was attended by prominent figures such as Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede. The legacy of Herbert Wigwe continues to shine brightly in the hearts and minds of those who strive for greatness.
