PDP NWC Clarifies: No Decision on Zoning for Ondo State Governorship Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is gearing up for the upcoming November 16 Ondo State governorship election, but one key decision is still up in the air – zoning. The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party recently met with stakeholders from Ondo State to discuss this crucial issue.

According to the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, the NWC has not yet decided on zoning the ticket to any specific part or area of the state. This means that all intending governorship aspirants and PDP members in the state can expect a level playing field in the nomination processes and activities leading up to the election.

Ologunagba emphasized that the nomination process will be conducted in accordance with the PDP Constitution, the Electoral Act, 2022, and the Party Guideline for the Election. The NWC also approved the convening of a special meeting to promote reconciliation and unity among party stakeholders in the state.

Key party leaders, including Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, will be part of this meeting to ensure that all stakeholders work together in the best interest of the party and the people of Ondo State.

The NWC also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that the state election is free, fair, and credible. The people of Ondo State are counting on the PDP to bring about positive change and rescue their state from its current challenges.

As the election date draws near, all eyes will be on how the PDP navigates the complex political landscape in Ondo State and works towards a successful outcome for the party and its supporters. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
