The Kano State Fire Service has confirmed a devastating inferno that engulfed two substation transformers at the Transmission Company in Dan’Agundi, Kano Municipal. The spokesperson for the service, Saminu Abdullahi, verified the incident on Sunday, stating that it occurred around 4:00 pm.

“We received a distress call at about 4:10 p.m from Mr. Umar, reporting a fire outbreak at the Dan’Agundi substation,” Abdullahi said. In response, a fire vehicle was dispatched to the scene to control the situation.

The fire, which affected transformer one (TR one) and transformer two (TR two) with 60 MVA capacity each, was attributed to a technical team working at the site. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported.
