Lionel Messi returned to training Tuesday in a huge boost for Tata Martino’s Inter Miami side.

The Herons suffered their first defeat of the 2024 MLS season in a 3-2 defeat to Montreal at the weekend as Martino was made to rue his decision to rest his star man.

The World Cup winner could only watch from the sidelines as Miami slumped to the loss in a frantic final 20 minutes as he sat out the clash amid a grueling schedule of three games in six days.

However, the Argentine offered Miami fans hope of an immediate bounce back as he returned to training ahead of the team’s CONCACAF Champions Cup clash against Nashville.
