Senator Abdul’aziz Yari of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara has made a heartwarming gesture by donating food items and clothing materials to 10,000 orphans in celebration of Ramadan and Sallah. The Senator, representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, kicked off the distribution of these items in Gusau, with the aim of assisting orphans during the holy month of Ramadan and to mark EI-el-fitri.

Yari emphasized the importance of helping those in need, especially during the sacred month of Ramadan, as it aligns with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad SAW. Each of the 10,000 orphans will receive a package of assorted grains including Rice, Millet, Sugar, and a set of clothing materials. He also called on other individuals to provide food and financial assistance to orphans and the less privileged in their communities.

The distribution committees at emirate councils were urged to ensure that the items reach the beneficiaries, emphasizing the importance of divine intervention to end the security challenges facing the state and the country as a whole. The state Secretary of the selection and screening committee, Sanusi Liman-DanAlhaji, praised Senator Yari for his generous act, highlighting that 10,000 orphans from across the 20 emirates in the state were selected to benefit from the assistance.

A total of over N565 million was spent on procuring the items, with each beneficiary set to receive food items and clothing materials worth N56,000. Two beneficiaries, Maryam Musa and Abdurrahman Saifullahi, expressed their gratitude on behalf of others for Senator Yari’s kind gesture.

This act of kindness and generosity serves as a reminder of the importance of helping those in need, especially during times of celebration and reflection. Senator Yari’s commitment to supporting the less fortunate in his community is truly commendable and sets a positive example for others to follow. Let us all take inspiration from this story and strive to make a difference in the lives of those around us.
