NELFUND Student Loan Scheme Launch Postponed, Not Indefinitely

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has clarified recent media reports suggesting a delay in the launch of the highly anticipated student loan scheme. Contrary to claims of an indefinite postponement, the Executive Secretary, Akintunde Sawyer, confirmed a temporary delay to ensure alignment among stakeholders before the official inauguration by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement, NELFUND reassured the public of its readiness for the launch, with the loan application portal prepared and funds approved by President Tinubu. Students are encouraged to be vigilant and apply for the loans promptly once the launch date is finalized.
