Anambra Police Launch Manhunt for Gunmen Behind Vigilante Office Attack

The Anambra State Police Command has launched a search to track down the gunmen responsible for the recent attack on the office of the Anambra State Vigilante Service in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area. The Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident and is determined to identify and dismantle the gang behind the attack.

According to reports, unidentified hoodlums stormed the office and set one of the buildings on fire. They also set ablaze a vigilante operative who was inside a vehicle parked in front of the office. The perpetrators, who arrived in large numbers, carried out the attack with impunity.

In response to the incident, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the state police spokesman, stated that the Commissioner of Police has pledged to leave no stone unturned in apprehending the culprits. He expressed condolences to the community for the loss of the vigilante operative and assured residents that efforts are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Commissioner commended vigilante groups in the state for their dedication to protecting the public and promised that the police would support them in every way possible. He has instructed police tactical teams and special forces to swiftly respond to distress calls from vigilante groups facing threats.

The statement issued by the police emphasized the commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the community. The Commissioner extended prayers for the deceased vigilante operative and vowed that his sacrifice would not be forgotten.
