The Tinubu Media Support Group, TMSG, has recently called out former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for his frequent criticism of President Bola Tinubu, attributing it to deep frustration. According to the group, Atiku’s criticism stems from Tinubu’s ability to achieve in one attempt what Atiku struggled for unsuccessfully for 32 years.
In a statement released by TMSG Chairman, Jesutega Onokpasa, it was highlighted that Atiku’s involvement in various national issues is a strategic move to stay politically relevant for a potential presidential bid. However, the group criticized Atiku for offering what they described as hollow, irrational, and poorly-researched solutions.
The group emphasized that Atiku’s recent press releases reflect his inner frustrations and desperation in the face of the Federal Government’s successful interventions, acknowledged by local and global financial institutions like Moody and Goldman Sachs. They also pointed out Atiku’s involvement in the aftermath of the foiled coup in the Senate, which exposed Senator Abdul Ningi as the ringleader.
As Atiku seeks redemption and relevance leading up to 2027, the group noted a decline in his rationality and statesmanship, suggesting that his attempts to remain significant have backfired. Despite his efforts, Atiku’s value in the political marketplace is diminishing, leaving his handlers and followers in a precarious position.
Overall, the TMSG’s statement underscores the ongoing political dynamics in Nigeria, highlighting the tensions between key political figures like Tinubu and Atiku. As the country navigates through these challenges, the narrative of power struggles and personal ambitions continues to shape its political landscape.
