The South East Zonal Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress has officially affirmed the suspension of Mrs. Ginika Tor by the Enugu State Chapter of the party. Tor, who serves as a Federal Commissioner representing Enugu State at the Federal Character Commission, was suspended due to allegations of gross misconduct, anti-party activities, and attempts to establish a parallel executive within the state.
Following a meeting of the Zonal Executive Committee in Enugu, the party’s leadership considered and ratified the decision made by the Enugu State chapter to suspend Tor. Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, the National Vice Chairman of APC South East, issued a statement confirming the zonal executive committee’s support for the suspension.
The statement highlighted that Tor had allegedly engaged in anti-party activities on March 10, 2024, by making public statements that aimed to tarnish the reputation of the APC leadership in Enugu and the Enugu State Executive. Additionally, she was accused of forming a factional or parallel State Executive Committee in violation of the party’s constitution.
“The South East Zonal Executive of the APC hereby ratifies the suspension of Mrs. Ginika Tor from the All Progressives Congress,” the statement read.
The resolution endorsing Tor’s suspension was sent to key party figures, including Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of APC; Sen Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State and leader of APC South-East; Chief Emma Eneukwu, APC Deputy National Chairman, South; and Chief Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology.
The decision to suspend Tor underscores the party’s commitment to upholding discipline and adherence to its internal regulations. As the situation continues to unfold, the APC remains focused on maintaining unity and integrity within its ranks.
