Tragedy struck in Minjibir Local Government Area of Kano State as four innocent children lost their lives to a devastating outbreak of diphtheria. The heart-wrenching news was confirmed by Mr. Tasiu Yahaya, the Information Officer of the local government, in a statement released on Thursday in Kano.

In addition to the four tragic deaths, a further 28 children have been infected with the disease, sending shockwaves through the towns of Kwarkiya, Kuru, Kunya, and Minjibir. The gravity of the situation prompted the Interim Management Officer of the local government, Muhammad Yakubu Kunya, to urgently call upon authorities and stakeholders to intervene and safeguard the health of the community.

The district head of the local government echoed this sentiment, urging traditional rulers and scholars to educate the community about the disease and pray for deliverance from this deadly outbreak.
