APC Orders Withdrawal of Court Cases in Benue State Crisis

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State is facing internal turmoil as the National Working Committee (NWC) has intervened to resolve the leadership crisis within the party. The NWC has issued a directive for the immediate withdrawal of all court cases filed by party members in the state.

The conflict stems from a power struggle between the state governor, Rv Fr Hycainth Alia, and the Austin Agada-led working committee over control of the party. Governor Alia appointed Benjamin Omakolo as the acting chairman after obtaining a court injunction against Agada. However, Omakolo’s tenure was short-lived as the Chief Judge of Benue State overturned the injunction, ruling that it was granted in error.

In response to the ongoing legal battles, the NWC has instructed all members involved in court cases against the party or its members to withdraw their suits within seven days. Failure to comply with this directive may result in suspension or expulsion from the party. The NWC has emphasized the importance of unity within the party and urged cooperation from all members to resolve the internal disputes.

The images below capture the tension and uncertainty surrounding the leadership crisis in the Benue State chapter of the APC. As the party navigates through this challenging period, it is crucial for all members to prioritize the interests of the party above personal ambitions. Only through unity and cooperation can the APC in Benue State overcome its current challenges and move forward towards a stronger and more cohesive future.
