Tragic Stampede at Nasarawa State University: Two Female Students Dead

Two female students tragically lost their lives in a stampede at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, during a distribution of palliatives by the state government. The chaotic scene left many others injured, with some suffocating due to the overwhelming crowd.

The National President of the Nasarawa State Students Association, Yunusa Baduku, expressed shock and sadness over the incident, highlighting the students’ overpowering of security measures and the resulting injuries. He confirmed that one student had died, with many others receiving emergency treatment at the Federal Medical Center in Keffi.

Baduku praised the university’s management, student leaders, and government representatives for their swift response in providing medical assistance to the affected students. Governor Abdullahi Sule had recently distributed rice and financial aid to students at other educational institutions in the state.

The tragic events at Nasarawa State University serve as a reminder of the importance of proper crowd control and safety measures during public distributions. The community’s unity and support in the face of such a devastating incident are commendable, as efforts are made to restore normalcy to the school environment.
