Chelsea full-back Malo Gusto has unfortunately had to pull out of the France Under-23 squad due to illness, just before their friendly matches against the Ivory Coast and the United States. This setback comes as a blow to the team’s preparations for the Paris Olympics this summer, as Gusto was a key player expected to start in both games.
The 20-year-old defender, who recently made his senior international debut in a win against the Netherlands, was looking forward to representing his country once again. However, he fell ill at the team’s training base in Chateauroux and had to return to London for treatment.
Manager Thierry Henry will now have to make a decision on who will replace Gusto in the squad, with either Kiliann Sildillia or Bafode Diakite likely to step in. Despite this setback, the team remains focused on their upcoming matches and the ultimate goal of success at the Olympics.
Stay tuned for more updates on Gusto’s recovery and the France Under-23 squad as they continue their preparations for the upcoming challenges ahead.
