The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has fired back at the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, following his remarks about Anambra State’s political alignment with APGA.
In response to Ganduje’s comments at the South-East APC colloquium in Nnewi, Anambra State, APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, highlighted Anambra’s progress despite being a minority party. Opara criticized Ganduje’s governance in Kano, pointing out the rejection of APC in the state in the 2023 elections.
Opara emphasized that Anambra, known as APGA land, has seen continuous growth under leaders like Peter Obi, Willie Obiano, and Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. He cited the state’s achievements in ICT deployment and education, showcasing Anambra’s commitment to progress.
Despite Ganduje’s claims about disconnecting from the center, Opara affirmed that Anambra would proudly remain disconnected if it meant maintaining its performance-based governance under APGA.
Furthermore, Opara criticized the transformation of the APC colloquium into a political rally and primary election, questioning the event’s original purpose.
In conclusion, Opara’s response to Ganduje’s remarks underscores Anambra’s resilience and success under APGA’s leadership, challenging misconceptions about the state’s political choices.
