The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State is embarking on a crucial reconciliation process to bring unity and strength to the party in preparation for the upcoming 2026 governorship election. Leaders from the state down to the ward levels gathered at the State Party Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti for a strategic meeting aimed at revitalizing the party.
Senator Biodun Olujimi, speaking at the ‘Unity Meeting’, emphasized the importance of forgiveness and collaboration among party members to revive the PDP and regain its former glory. She urged leaders to think innovatively about resource generation and to work together towards a common goal of success in the upcoming election.
State Party Chairman, Engr. Alaba Agboola, announced the formation of a reconciliation committee led by Hon. Kehinde Odebunmi and Rt. Hon. Tunji Odeyemi. This committee is tasked with bridging the gaps between party factions and fostering unity among members.
Agboola highlighted the challenges faced by the party post-gubernatorial election, including defections to other parties, and stressed the importance of coming together to strengthen the PDP. He encouraged party members to rally behind the reconciliation efforts in preparation for the upcoming Congress in May and the 2026 election.
