The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is demanding accountability from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) government regarding the utilization of N6 billion for this year’s Ramadan feeding program. The challenge was issued by Kano APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, during the distribution of palliatives to APC leaders and supporters in Dawakin Kudu.

Abbas criticized the Ramadan feeding program, labeling it as a sham, and urged the State Government to provide evidence that the food being distributed aligns with the reported expenditure on the program. He highlighted that the grains being distributed to supporters were procured through contributions from APC members, emphasizing the lack of government support in the state.

Notable contributors to the palliatives initiative include Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, two state ministers, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and Abbas himself. Additionally, Kano APC gubernatorial candidate Dr. Nasiru Gawuna, running mate Murtala Sule-Garo, Chief of Staff to the APC National Chairman Malam Muhammad Garba, and Engr Abubakar Kabir Bichi also participated in the fundraising efforts.

Garba, representing Ganduje, emphasized that the gesture aimed to alleviate the economic challenges faced by Nigerians, particularly during the Ramadan Fast. He underscored the importance of supporting party members and leaders across the 484 wards during this period of economic hardship.

Furthermore, Garba credited the idea of the palliatives to APC National Chairman Ganduje, highlighting the coordinated effort to provide assistance to party supporters during the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative reflects a commitment to solidarity and support within the APC community, especially in times of need.
