Edema Fuludu Urges NFF to Appoint George Finidi as Super Eagles Coach

Former Nigerian international player, Edema Fuludu, is advocating for interim Super Eagles coach, George Finidi, to be given the permanent role as head coach of the national team. Following Jose Peseiro’s departure after leading Nigeria to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where they were defeated by the host country, Côte d’Ivoire, Finidi was appointed as the temporary coach for the team’s friendlies against Ghana and Mali.

In a recent interview with NAN, Fuludu expressed his belief that Finidi has proven himself to be the right person for the job, especially after the Super Eagles secured a 2-1 victory over the Black Stars of Ghana in a friendly match. Fuludu emphasized the importance of looking within Nigeria for the next coach of the national team, highlighting Finidi’s calm demeanor, coaching qualifications, and ability to connect with the players.

Fuludu stressed that an indigenous coach like Finidi would bring out the best in the Nigerian players, as they would have a deeper understanding of the team compared to foreign coaches. He praised Finidi for his composure and stated that he is not easily influenced, making him a suitable candidate to lead the Super Eagles to future success.

With Fuludu’s endorsement and the impressive performance of the Super Eagles under Finidi’s guidance, the Nigerian Football Federation is urged to consider offering him the permanent position as head coach of the national team. It is believed that Finidi’s leadership and coaching abilities could bring about positive results for Nigerian football on the international stage.
