In a statement signed by Governor Senator Uba Sani, it was confirmed that the schoolchildren have been safely released.

The governor expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing the safety and security of Nigerians, particularly in ensuring the safe return of the abducted schoolchildren. The abduction took place on March 7, 2024, when hoodlums took the schoolchildren from LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School, Kuriga, into the forest. The abductors demanded a ransom of N1 billion for their release, with a deadline set for March 27, 2024.

The governor’s statement also extended gratitude to all Nigerians who fervently prayed for the safe return of the schoolchildren, emphasizing that this development is a cause for celebration and giving thanks to Almighty Allah.
