Bandits Kill Two During Ramadan Prayer in Katsina Village

In a tragic incident during Ramadan prayers, suspected bandits struck Mairuwa village in Katsina State, resulting in the death of two individuals. The Kastina State Police Command confirmed the attack, revealing that the bandits also kidnapped several residents during the prayers. Fortunately, the kidnapped victims were rescued by a joint effort of the police, community watch corps, and vigilantes.

The attack took place on the 23rd of March, 2024, at 8:30 pm, when the bandits descended on the village with the intention of kidnapping. In the ensuing chaos, two people lost their lives before the security forces intervened and successfully repelled the attackers.

The police spokesperson, Abubakar Aliyu, assured that investigations are underway to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice. The community is reeling from the shock of the incident, but efforts are being made to ensure the safety and security of all residents.

This heartbreaking event serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by communities in regions affected by banditry and violence. The resilience and bravery of the security forces and local volunteers in responding to such threats highlight the importance of unity and cooperation in the face of adversity.
