The lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have thrown their weight behind Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as their preferred candidate for the upcoming governorship election on November 16th. Speaker Olamide Oladiji made this announcement after a closed-door meeting with the party’s National Working Committee in Abuja.

Oladiji praised APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje for his role in restoring peace to the state chapter. He expressed gratitude for the intervention that has brought stability to the party in Ondo. The lawmakers pledged their support to the party’s leadership and President Bola Tinubu’s administration, committing to work towards the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, who assumed office following the passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, has already made significant strides in governance according to Oladiji. The speaker highlighted Aiyedatiwa’s efforts to continue the legacy of his predecessor and foster collaboration between the judiciary and the executive branch.

Ganduje commended the lawmakers for their support and emphasized the importance of unity within the party to ensure a successful primary election in April. The APC is gearing up for the state governorship primaries, with Aiyedatiwa poised to be a strong contender for the candidacy.

Despite external skepticism, Oladiji affirmed that Ondo State is experiencing peace and progress under Aiyedatiwa’s leadership. The governor’s achievements in a short period have been evident, showcasing his commitment to advancing the state’s development agenda.

As the political landscape in Ondo evolves, the APC lawmakers remain steadfast in their dedication to supporting Aiyedatiwa’s government and the party’s objectives. With the governor at the helm, Ondo State looks towards a future of continued growth and prosperity.
